Randy Was The Hero That Downers Grove Deserves
In 1987, America was on the brink: Black Monday hit, the Iran-Contra crisis brewed, President Reagan had his prostate removed, Magnum, P.I. signed off, and D.A.R.E. struggled to keep Americans from partaking in the drugs. Despite that darkness, Randy "Macho Man" Savage won his first WWF Championship and restored hope as well as spread joy worldwide. Before he was Macho Man, his story began here in Downers Grove. The time has come to honor his greatness!
Why Is This Legend Worthy of a Statue, You Ask?

Early Years
During Randy Poffo's formative years, he graced the halls of Pierce Downer and Herrick Middle School. Today, one tiny, insignificant plaque honors Randy in the halls of DG North where he was inducted into their Hall of Fame for baseball..not Life. Our committee will not rest until we honor our hometown hero with the greatest monument ever known to man, in the 60515.

Tower of Power
Downers Grove raised an absolute beast in his early years. Our town instilled greatness & hard work. The results? 2 WWE World Championships. 2 World Heavyweight Championships. Billions of Slim Jim meat sticks sold internationally. Despite that, the Committee has documented ZERO STATUES in the Great Village of Downers Grove. Join our cause and take matters into our own hands.

Too Sweet to be Sour
Slaying in the ring and in life might be good enough for most Naperville residents. But not our brother, Randy. Like his domination in the ring, his charitable contributions were larger than life. He was active in "Make A Wish" Foundation & is an inductee to the Child Advocacy Hall Fame alongside Mr. Rogers & Malala Yousafzai. The committee smells a final Jeopardy question.
